Autism and/or ADHD Assessment Practitioner

Are you looking for more freedom and flexibility?

If the answer is yes to the above, then you may be interested in our Autism and / or ADHD Assessment Practitioner role at Mindler.

Founded in 2018 in Sweden, Mindler is a digital therapy service aimed at providing mental health treatment to adults experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties. Mindler expanded into the UK in 2021, and since then we’ve been on a mission to provide patients with quick appointments, whilst offering the best workplace for our clinicians.

The freedom of Mindler is such that you choose the hours and schedule that works for you. Some of our clinicians work at 6am, others work at 8pm. Others work at weekends, and some during the day. You’re in charge of your own work/life balance, with the added bonus of being able to work from pretty much anywhere.

We are currently recruiting for Autism and / or ADHD Assessment Practitioners with a minimum of two years diagnostic experience. We like to think that the flexibility and freedom that comes with joining Mindler is our major benefit, but besides this we offer a pay scale which rises with your experience.

One of the best things about being a clinician at Mindler is our Care Coordination team. Outside of your sessions, they’ll interact with your clients by text and work with you to help your patients achieve their goals. They’ll also be by your side during the rare event of escalations such as referrals out of our service or safeguarding situations.

About the role:

The role involves providing remote Autism and / or ADHD assessments with adult clients. Autism assessments will be conducted by a team of two clinicians – one practitioner delivers the ADOS-informed assessment while the other undertakes the ADI-R. Ability to undertake both ADOS-2 and ADI-R is desired but not essential. Ability to conduct both Autism and ADHD assessments is also desired, but not essential. MDTs with Neurodevelopmental (ND) Lead are also held to support the assessment decision. We are looking for a motivated individual who wants to work in a high-performance team at a leading digital healthcare company.

Main responsibilities:

  • Provide gold-standard Autism and / or ADHD assessments for adults, in line with NICE guidelines, and considering broad differential diagnoses and frequently co-occurring mental health conditions to make diagnostic decisions

  • Use clinical judgement and experience to make treatment recommendations using highly developed skills and knowledge regarding management of adults with Autism and / or ADHD

  • Exercise autonomous professional responsibility for diagnostic decision making, with supervision

  • Formulate and complete detailed assessment reports, as per NICE guidelines

  • Formulate and implement plans for the treatment of clients

  • Participate in MDT meetings

  • Maintain safe and effective clinical practice, as per their professional regulatory body’s standards

Requirements:

  • For Autism Assessments: Qualification in a core profession, which is governed by a regulatory body (i.e. psychologist, nurse, social worker, occupational therapist)

  • For ADHD assessments: Registered mental health nurse or psychologist with experience of assessing and autonomously diagnosing ADHD

  • Relevant professional body registration with no restrictions on practice

  • Evidence of formal training in ADOS-2 and / or ADI-R and / or DIVA

  • Minimum 2 years Autism and / or ADHD diagnostic experience after formal training, and experience of carrying out remote assessments

  • Relevant experience of supporting adults with mental health difficulties, e.g. trauma, to help with differential diagnosis

  • Enhanced DBS Certificate

  • The right to work in the UK

Benefits:

  • Competitive pay depending on your post-training experience, as well as paid time for training, team meetings and missed appointments (we’ll confirm the applicable rate based on your experience and qualifications, before the interview)

  • A close-knit remote team. Annual away-days and remote “skills swap meetings” are a part of our culture. In fact 100% of our clinicians would recommend us as an employer

  • Fantastic care coordination support to help you manage and communicate with your patients

  • The freedom and flexibility to pursue other commitments around the work schedule you choose

  • Fully home-based – work from the comfort of your own home

  • In-house clinical supervision

  • The excitement of joining a start-up and having the opportunity to influence the way the company operates

In addition to your application, please attach your:

  • ADOS and /or ADI-R and / or DIVA certification(s),
