Lead DevOps Engineer - Stockholm

Join the planet’s most important fight!

Normative is now looking for a Lead DevOps Engineer in Stockholm.

At Normative, we're on a mission to accelerate the transition to a net-zero world. We provide science-based carbon accounting software and tailored advice from net-zero experts, empowering companies to reduce their carbon footprints.

Our R&D team is now looking to hire an experienced Lead DevOps Engineer to lead our team responsible for Cloud/Infrastructure, Platform, Security and Quality. As a leader in our Engineering organisation, you will make a real impact on the fight against climate change and play a crucial role in helping companies achieve their NetZero goals and contribute to a sustainable future.

About the Role

As a Lead DevOps Engineer, you will lead efforts to optimize cloud infrastructure environments, automate CI/CD pipelines, and apply Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles to enhance system uptime, monitoring, and incident response. Collaborating with teams across our R&D organization, you'll focus on both infrastructure automation and operational excellence, ensuring high availability, security, and scalability of critical services.

What You'll Do

    • Define and drive the overall DevOps strategy, incorporating automation, cloud infrastructure, monitoring, and security.

    • Design, implement, and maintain cloud-based infrastructure and services using tools like AWS, GCP, Docker, Github Actions, and Terraform.

    • Build and optimize automated CI/CD pipelines for seamless application deployments, integrating best practices around testing, security, and scaling.

    • Work closely with cross-functional teams (developers, QA, security) to ensure smooth software delivery, identifying bottlenecks and improving efficiency.

    • Implement robust monitoring and alerting systems for proactive incident management, ensuring high availability and performance.

    • Be a technical mentor to a team of DevOps engineers, fostering a culture of proactivity, high quality, collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.

What You Bring

      • Proven experience in a Lead DevOps or SRE role, managing complex, high-availability systems at scale.

      • In-depth knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP), including cloud architecture, security, and cost optimization.

      • Strong experience with Terraform or other Infrastructure as Code (IaC) technologies for automating infrastructure management.

      • Proficiency in building, maintaining, and optimizing CI/CD pipelines using tools like Github Actions, GitLab, or Buildkite.

      • Advanced skills in Docker and Kubernetes (or AWS ECS!) for container orchestration and microservices management.

      • Solid understanding of Site Reliability Engineering principles, including monitoring/alerting, observability (Prometheus, Grafana), and incident management (SLIs, SLOs, SLAs).

      • Proficient in scripting (Bash) for automating routine tasks and improving system reliability. If you have experience with programming (JavaScript/TypeScript, Python), even better.

      • Excellent troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills in a fast-paced, production-critical environment.

      • Knowledge of security best practices and compliance requirements (e.g., SOC 2, ISO 27001).

If you are a driven and passionate individual with a strong desire to make a positive impact on the world, and a real love for DevOps culture, we encourage you to apply. This is an exciting opportunity to join a mission-driven company and make a real difference in the fight against climate change.

Join us and be a part of something bigger than yourself. Together, we can create a more sustainable future for all.
