About Photoncycle
Solar panels make plenty of power in summer and very little in winter, when we need it most. Photoncycle solves that for households. We store energy from the summer sun, so that the it can be used all winter. When there’s excess energy, we sell the surplus to the grid, where it helps balance supply and demand. Households pay a fixed monthly fee; we build, install and operate the system.
Our mission is to accelerate the transition to a more renewable, balanced, and secure energy system. Photoncycle systems enable households to use homegrown energy year-round for electricity, heat, and hot water, while also helping the grid balance production and consumption peaks. This enables the transition away from fossil-based energy.
Our customers are central to that mission. Every home we power is proof that energy independence is possible, and the stories of those homeowners are one of our strongest tools for reaching the next ones.
We are a team of 25 employees across offices in Oslo and Copenhagen. In 2026, we raised a €15 million Series A backed by NordicNinja, Voima Ventures, Lifeline Ventures, Eviny Ventures, Luminar Ventures and Momentum. We're now moving from full-scale pilot to commercial rollout, with the first phase of our production facility coming online in 2027.
The Role
We are looking for a Storyteller to own content creation and community management for our customers. Your main goal is to engage our customers with compelling, on-brand content, and to make Photoncycle something people want to follow, talk about and belong to.
You will shape how Photoncycle shows up on all communications channels, in both Danish and English. That means developing content concepts for social media, writing for our different platforms, and working with external photographers, videographers and agencies to bring ideas to life. You will also be the voice of our brand in our community channels, and you will create moments that bring customers, their neighbours, and future customers together.
Much of this is still unbuilt. Our Danish rollout is in its early phase, so you will spend a considerable amount of time testing formats, trying new ideas, and learning what resonates. We value creativity, curiosity, a structured way of working, and the ability to connect what you create to what the company and the customer actually need, not just the next post in the calendar.
You don't need to be an energy expert from day one. We will support you in learning about the energy markets, and there are experts to help you anytime.
You will join the the small Danish team that is building the market from the ground up, while also contributing to the global storytelling of Photoncycle. You will work closely with operations, product and our marketing colleagues in Oslo to turn a deep-tech product into stories people understand and remember.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and own the content strategy and content calendar across our channels, in Danish and English, tied to clear goals for engagement, awareness and customer loyalty.
Shape the Photoncycle brand story, from our mission to the everyday lives of the homeowners who live with our system.
Develop content concepts and recurring formats for social media that fit how each platform works.
Write copy for our different platforms, including social media, newsletters, website, customer communication, and customer stories.
Brief and manage external partners (photographers, videographers, agencies and freelancers) from concept to final delivery.
Manage our customer community: engage, respond, moderate, spark conversations, and share customer insights with sales, service and product.
Track performance, report on engagement and reach, and use the data to improve what we do.
What We're Looking For
Must-have experience
Experience with concept development, content strategy and creation, brand storytelling or social media, in-house or at an agency.
Excellent written Danish and strong written English.
A solid understanding of the logic of social media platforms: algorithms, formats, and what drives reach and engagement.
Strong project management skills: able to run several projects in parallel and deliver on time.
Ability to explain complex or technical topics in plain, human language.
Comfortable working in a fast-moving environment where the right answer isn't known yet.
Nice-to-have
Experience working with external partners to produce content, such as video and images.
Experience with community management or building online and offline communities.
Background in energy, climate tech, home improvement, or other considered consumer purchases.
Hands-on skills in short-form video, photo editing or design tools, for example CapCut, Adobe or Canva.
Experience with social analytics, newsletter tools, CRM, or paid social.
We welcome applicants across experience levels, from motivated early-career storytellers to more senior profiles. If you bring a strong creative sense and genuine curiosity for this domain, we encourage you to apply even if you do not match every item above exactly.
What Success Looks Like for the Team You'll Join
Photoncycle has a recognisable, consistent brand voice that customers and prospects engage with.
Our customers feel part of a community and share their experience with neighbours, friends and online.
Content formats, partners and processes are in place so we can produce high-quality content at a steady pace, and scale it to new markets.
The team makes better marketing and customer decisions by bringing engagement data and customer insight into the discussion, and you'll be part of making that happen.
What We Offer
The opportunity to shape the voice of a high-impact climate technology company in one of its first markets.
A central role in connecting Photoncycle's customers, product and brand.
A collaborative, mission-driven culture with significant ownership.
An office in the heart of Copenhagen at BLOXhub with lunch benefits and unlimited coffee.
Photoncycle is committed to building an inclusive workplace. We welcome applicants of all backgrounds and make hiring decisions based on skills, experience, and potential.
